Genital herpes Causes, Symptoms and Natural Home Remedies for Genital Warts

Genital herpes is a common sexually transmitted disease that is spread by having sex with someone who has the virus. Many people who have genital herpes don't even know they have it in the early stages. Genital herpes, or herpes simplex type two, is different from herpes simplex type one, which is less severe and causes cold sores on the mouth. Symptoms of genital herpes include sores on the genitals, flu-like symptoms, fever and swollen glands. Genital herpes can also be spread by oral sex or by touching a herpes sore and not washing your hands. There is no cure for herpes and the virus will stay with the infected person forever, but only shows itself during the occasional outbreak. If you have genital herpes you will have to see a doctor and take medication for it, but there are things you can do at home to ease the virus in the meantime.

Symptoms

Symptoms of genital herpes are very easy to spot. The things to look for would be very small red bumps near your genitals and anus. These small bumps can even look like blisters or open sores. These little bumps are going to be painful and very itchy. They can be found on the butt, genitals, and on the inner thighs. It is important to keep a lookout for symptoms of genital herpes. During breakouts, it is more likely to pass this virus on to other people. Of course, you can still pass it on when no outbreak has occurred.

Diet for Herpes

A healthy diet rich in essential vitamins and minerals, particularly vitamin B, vitamin C, zinc, iron and lysine is highly recommended for dealing with Herpes outbreaks.

Therefore, positively include foods like apples, mangoes, apricots, figs, papayas, carrots, tomatoes, broccoli, cabbage, beetroot, sprouts, dairy products and other fresh fruits and vegetables in the diet. The diet shou ld be aimed at strengthening the immune system so as to avoid Herpes flare ups in the future.
In addition, reduce the consumption of junk foods and foods high in sugars. However, having herbal teas and adopting alternative therapies such as yoga help to reduce the chances of developing the flare ups by keeping the body and mind healthy and hence serve as effective home remedies for Herpes.

Home Remedies for Genital Herpes

1. Cook one cup of olive oil in a pot, add some bee wax and lavender oil. Cool and smear on the herpes. This is one of the common home remedies for genital herpes.

2. Salt baths can clean, soothe and dry the sores. Wash areas below the waist in a warm, shallow bath and use Epsom salts (you can buy epsom salts from most supermarkets and drugstores). This will help to dry out and clean the sores.

3. Take analgesics or pain relievers such as aspirin, ibuprofen, acetaminophen or paracetamol to relieve pain. If yo ur outbreaks are very painful, you will need to talk to your doctor about this option.

4. Baking soda is another useful home remedy for genital herpes. Slightly dampen a cotton ball or tissue, dip it in Baking Soda (Bi-Carbonate Soda) and coat the infected area. Leave on the sore to dry out the infection and to help relieve itching.

5. Local application of ice packs may alleviate the pain. Ice will soothe the area, as well as lower the temperature of the infection, helping to inhibit the virus.

6. Application of cold tea bags to the infected area every hour may be beneficial. This is because tea bags contain tannic acid which is thought to have antiviral properties, best used at the first sign of an outbreak.

7. Aloe vera is also used as a home remedy for genital herpes. It cools down the itching and redness. It is safe and gentle, so can be applied on and inside the genitals.
