Use Home Remedies to Remove Un-Wanted Warts - Health

When I was ten years old, I had warts on every knuckle on both of my hands. I didn't know they were caused by a virus called the Human Papilloma Virus or HPV. I also didn't know that they spread due to contact and grew in warm moist environments. What I did know was that I was made fun of because of them and I would often scrape one and it would bleed. Some of what you are about to read I learned first hand; the rest came from research.

Warts seem to be more common in children than older adults. To prevent warts from occurring, you should practice good hygiene and avoid direct contact with people who have the virus. This isn't always as easy to do since you may not know someone you are shaking hands with, for example, has warts. Another example of how easy it is to be infected by the "wart" virus is that you may not always be able to keep your children from coming in contact with school mates who have warts.

Warts can be painful, bothersome, and may spread anywhere on your body. They can cause discomfort both physically and psychologically. Psychological discomfort such as low self-esteem is common especially when the warts appear in more visible areas of the body such as the face. Physical discomfort is common when warts occur on parts of the body where contact with the wart creates pain. One example of the latter is when you have a wart on your foot.

Given the current economic conditions, people are hesitant to get wart removal treatment from a doctor due to the expense and in too many cases due to lack of insurance. If the wart is in a delicate or private area, some people will not discuss it with their doctor out of embarrassment. This is why home remedies can be a good option for wart removal.

The really good news is that there are a lot of home remedies to remove warts. Common home remedies include: Apple cider vinegar, Castor oil, potatoes, lemon juice, bananas, garlic, pineapples, onions, cabbages and even Duct tape!

"Duct tape, garlic, pineapple?", you warily ask. Actually, they do work. You just have to ensure that you know the proper procedure for applying your remedy of choice so that it will be effective for you.

You may now be intrigued but may be asking yourself where can I get this information about homemade remedies?

There are books and short courses available online that you will find helpful in eliminating warts successfully. This information is usually detailed in such a way that you can see exactly what you have to do to make the remedy work for you.

There are advantages and at least one disadvantage when it comes to using homemade wart removal remedies.

The following are the advantages of using home remedies in the removal of warts:

They can be more cost effective than over-the-counter products and medical treatment. They are natural and non-invasive. When properly applied, the risk of scarring is low. And finally these remedies are readily available.

One disadvantage of using homemade remedies is that you may have to be more patient. Some of the remedies take longer for the wart to dry up and fall off. This is actually an advantage as it gives the body/skin the ability to naturally heal and helps you have little to no scarring.

If you have a wart problem, take a good look because using home remedies to remove your unwanted warts just may be the answer you have been looking for to solve your wart problem.
